Admissions Process

St. Mary’s Hare Park is a Roman Catholic Independent School and Nursery, established as a Charitable Trust under the management of the Board of Trustees.  The school was founded to provide education for Roman Catholic children, however, the school has a rich, multi-cultural tradition and the Trustees will consider applications from families of other denominations/religions who are willing to support the ethos of the school. Admission is open for girls and boys from 3½ years to 11 years.  The Nursery admits children from 2½ years.

First Step - Contact

If you would like your child to be registered at St. Mary’s Hare Park School or Nursery, early registration is advised. A place can occur at any time in any year group, so please call our Registrar, Mrs Gregory on 01708 761220, for up-to-date information about availability. In all cases, you will be given the option to arrange a visit to the school. You can also fill in our Enquiry Form by clicking the link on the Admissions tab. Second Step

Second Step - Visiting the school

You can either visit us on one of our yearly Open Days or arrange for an informal tour and meeting with our Headteacher, Mr Ludovic Bernard, and the relevant Year Group Teacher. Please call the Registrar on 01708 761220.

Third Step - Registering your child

To request a place for your child at St. Mary’s Hare Park School, we ask that you complete and sign an Application Form, provided by our Admissions Manager, and send it back along with the non-refundable £80 registration fee for the school, to our Registrar. This will ensure that your child’s name is added to the waiting list for the next available place.

Fourth Step - Pupil taster and assessment

There is no formal assessment for pupils joining our Nursery or Pre -School (ages 2½ to 3½). From Reception onwards, our Registrar will organise a taster session for your child, which will include an assessment, to gain an understanding of the level your child is working at. This is to ensure that each child can access the full curriculum and is based on tasks done by the class they propose to join. We may also request previous reports from your child’s current school (where relevant) to help inform our decision.

Fifth Step - Offer of a place

Offer letters will be sent out to parents of children within 2 days of taster and assessment.

Thank you for your enquiry and please contact us on 01708 761220 if you have questions regarding the Admissions Procedure.
