Digital Learning Strategy
The digital world provides a platform that allows us to connect, collaborate and create. It opens up opportunities to learn about new and important issues, and it empowers innovation in ways that were unimaginable just a few years ago.
Pupils are encouraged to use technology as a tool for learning in all aspects of the curriculum.
We want our pupils to be creators not consumers, and our rich and broad curriculum reflects this. To achieve this, the use of technology is modelled and integrated throughout our curriculum to deliver accessible and innovative learning experiences. This allows our pupils to be fluent with a range of tools that enables them to express their understanding confidently and independently.
We have one computing suite which houses a combination of PCs and laptops. Pupils have 1:2 iPad devices in Years 1, 2, 4 and 5. All children in Years 3 and 6 have 1:1 iPads.
iPads
All pupils joining Year 3 from 2023 will be supplied with an iPad. This helps us to control the online safety of all pupils whilst enhancing their educational provision.
The supply of these devices will come from a third party provider, who will also provide insurance. There will be a variety of payment options available.
At the end of the Year 6 the pupil will own the device outright.
All pupils use learning platforms which allow pupils to upload files and access resources both in and outside of the school.
