ISA Shakespeare Monologue Competition Winner!

“ Be not afraid of greatness…Some are born great, some achieve greatness, and others have greatness thrust upon them”

W. Shakespeare Twelfth Night

It seems that when it comes to Shakespeare, Pearle has achieved “greatness”!

I am thrilled to share the news with you that Pearle won the ISA Shakespeare Monologue Competition for our School, in the KS2 category. With 140 Schools to compete with, this is an incredible achievement. The competition had 5 categories and was judged by Professor Charlotte Scott.

This was SMHP debut entry into this competition and this was Pearle’s first ever experience of speaking Shakespeares blank verse.

I am bursting with pride for Pearle and admire her dedication to learning this monologue in such a short period of time, resulting in a mature and thoughtful performance of Portia from The Merchant of Venice.
