PE & Sport

Our physical education curriculum inspires all pupils to succeed in sport and other physically-demanding activities. It enables children to become confident in a way which supports their health and fitness. We provide opportunities for our children to compete in sport; this helps to build character and embed values such as fairness and respect. The children face different challenges as individuals and as part of groups and teams. The learning of rules for team games is an important element; pupils are taught these rules from an early age.

Our main aims are to:

  • develop competence to excel in a broad range of physical activities
  • ensure children are physically active for sustained periods of time
  • engage in competitive sports and activities
  • promote healthy and active lifestyles

We have a strong partnership with the Havering Sports Collective; where children from our school are selected to represent us alongside other local schools. Children have the opportunity to try both new sports and compete in ones they have been taught at school.

Within our school children get to experience a wide range of sports including gymnastics, football, tag rugby, hockey, rounders, netball, basketball, dance, cricket, orienteering and athletics. Within the juniors all children participate in swimming during an allocated block for their year group.
