Safeguarding

Safeguarding at St Mary’s Hare Park School

At St Mary’s Hare Park School, safeguarding and child protection are our highest priorities. We are committed to ensuring that every child in our care feels safe, supported, and able to flourish within a nurturing and secure environment.

Our Commitment

Safeguarding is a shared responsibility embedded in every aspect of school life. We foster a culture of vigilance, openness, and trust—where all pupils feel empowered to speak out and where early intervention is enabled. All staff, including trustees, receive regular, up-to-date training and understand the importance of acting promptly and appropriately to protect children.

Our safeguarding practice is guided by:
  • The Independent School Standards Regulations

  • Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE)

  • Working Together to Safeguard Children

  • Local Authority and Havering Local Safeguarding Children Partnership (LSCP) guidance

Our Safeguarding Team
  • Mr Seaman – Deputy Head & Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL)

  • Miss Barr – Assistant Head & Deputy DSL

  • Mr Bernard – Headteacher & Deputy DSL

  • Mrs Olofinjana– Safeguarding Trustee
